      The Nazarene Archives (Kansas City, Mo.) has acquired the Carl O. Bangs Collection.  A president of the American Society of Church History, Bangs was among the world’s leading specialists in the theology of James Arminius, the Dutch Reformation, and the development of the Arminian theological tradition in continental Europe and England.  He was also quite knowledgeable about the history of American Christianity and, after his marriage to Marjorie Friesen, developed a keen interest in Anabaptist history, producing works in these areas also.  His primary books were biographies—an intellectual biography of Arminius (1971) and a social and religious biography of…
