Asbury Theological Seminary Receives Papers of Famed Missionary Evangelist E. Stanley Jones

      On September 29th 2001 Asbury Theological Seminary formally opened the Papers of E. Stanley Jones (1884-1973). Featured speakers included mission historian David Bundy and Jones' biographer Stephen Graham. A special highlight of the afternoon was the participation of Jones' daughter, Eunice Mathews Jones, and son-in-law Bishop James Mathews. The Jones' Papers span the years 1913 to the 1970s. They include correspondence, personal notebooks, sermons, addresses, pictures and printed matter. The collection documents Jones' role as a missionary, best-selling author, evangelist and diplomat.
