Scriptural Holiness and the Fourfold Gospel

          The Korea Holiness Church (KHC), third largest Protestant body in Korea, celebrates its centennial in 2007. The historiography of this significant movement and its connections with the American holiness movement provide an instructive theological study.       Influenced by the nineteenth-century holiness movement but also by the emerging “fourfold gospel” in late-nineteenth-century America, early holiness missionaries to Korea (founders of the Oriental Missionary Society, now OMS International) introduced a “full gospel” that combined Wesley’s teaching on Christian perfection with the newer “fourfold” emphasis.
